In compliance with Circular No 16, Hd Qrs Asst Comr Dist of Va Richmond Va, Augt 17th 1867. I have the honor to report, that in compliance with G.C. No 51 Hd Qrs. First Military Dist State of Va. Richmond Va Augt 7th 1867, and that the overseers of the poor in the 2d Div 6th Sub Dist Va declare their willingness and ability to provide for their indigent colored persons.

The overseers of poor only supply a sufficiency of Bread, and land (with cabin) to cultivate, to raise fowls, &c to healthy paupers, white or colored. In cases [[strikethrough]] where [[/strikethrough]] of sickness, or when in the judgement of the Board it is requisite, paupers are allowed meat sugar coffee &c.

There are no Freedmen receiving rations, or in charge of the Bureau in this Division.
