Anderson and Robinson said that immediately after the shooting Trice asked Robinson to see Chew and tell him that he Trice would give him Eighteen dolls not to report him to the Officer at Bowling Green,

On cross examination Trice admitted chasing Chew with an axe, was not sure he fired at him, thinks he might have, but his best recollection was that he did not fire, would not swear he did not, but swore positively he never promised Chew Eighteen dollars not to report, him - and that he never authorized any one to offer any thing to Chew not to report him.

The prosecution objected to any evidence as to shooting done 18 months ago which even if proved had nothing to do with the case - the Court admitted the testimony
