To the honoured Gen, Brown of this city
Dear Sir 
having see in today's Dispatch that you had left this morning for the city of Washington and not knowing that it were your intention to leave so soon and we thought it proper to address you with a few lines Requesting you, if you have an opportunity to take some steps toward geting our money our of the hand of Lawyer Morgan or cause him to leave it in your possession us, to be brought here by you and depossited in the Freedmen Saving Bank of Richmond There were some 12.30 odd dollars and some cents This Sum of money came under the notice of the officer General Howard last October 12 month ago and we wish Gen, Brown to get it for us if possible and he shall be well paid for confering such a favor on us
