General:
Pursuant to the endorsement of Surg. J. J. De Lamater, Chf. Med. Officer of the Dept., on the paper herewith submitted, I have the honor to make application for an Order for the admission of "Mary Toney" - crazy freedwoman into the Asylum for Insane, at Harvard Genl. Hospital, Richmond, Va., and transportation for her, and two attendants (one being considered inadequate for her secure transit); to wit, "L. H. Powell," & "John Wade," both white, the first being the Sheriff, and the other Deputy Sheriff of the county - hence to that place, and the return of the two last named parties. Failing to find any person willing to
