Wytheville, Virginia.
July 30th, 1866.

Dear Sister

Your very kind letter of the 27th was received yesterday with a great deal of pleasure. I was very glad to hear from you and to hear that you had gotten to your mothers, because it was the first time account that I had of you since the surrender. Julia is well at present but very much dissatisfied, and I think that you had better come after her just as soon as possible. I would have taken her to her grandmother long ago, but the beauro [[bureau]] would not let her unless you come for her yourself.
