point on Bute Street ten feet distant from the beginning & running thence Westwardly along said Bute Street ten feet to the beginning, the said lots pieces or parcels of land being the same which were conveyed to the said William C. Southgate by Joseph Minden by deeds dated respectively the 4th day of September 1850 & the 13th day of November 1850 & duly recorded in the City of Norfolk.  To have and to hold the said respective lots, pieces or parcels of land with all and Singular the improvements, ways rights, privileges and Appurtenances to them & each of them belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said John R. Ludlow & his heirs & assigns to the only proper use & behalf of the said John R Ludlow & his heirs & assigns forever.  And the said William C. Southgate covenants that he will warrant generally the property hereby conveyed.  In Witness whereof the said William C. Southgate hath hereunto set his hand & seal -
