I have the honor to report that at a public exhibition of Tableaus and Charades given by the young "Ladies" and "Gentlemen" of this place on the night of the 23rd last, at the "Early House" kept by (."Capt) Giles W. B. Hale", late of the Rebel army, now the County Jailer, for the purpose of raising enough money to buy a Bible and Hymn Book for the use of the Church here - the price of admission being twenty five cents each - a Tableau was introduced entitled and meant to represent "Virginia mourning over her fallen Heroes". I had previously understood that in this piece the Rebel flag would be exhibited, and that the fallen Heroes were to appear in full Rebel uniform. This however was not carried out; in the one instance owing most probably, to the fact that the Rebel uniforms in this vicinity had been all worn out. 
Virginia -- Mrs. "Bettie Buiford" - appeared clad simply in mourning and bare in her hand a small flag of the State. The "fallen Heroes", seem lying around on the stage. wore their civilian garb. But as a set off to this, there were sung, behind the curtain, among other songs as interludes, by Miss Mary Wilson" "Farewell to the Star Spangled Banner", and a Rebel version of "Tramp
