General.
I have the honor to report that several col'd. soldiers, who were discharged from the U.S. Army, and since have return to this Co. sometime last year, and also since the passage of the "Bounty Bill" entrusted their Discharges to various individuals, principally merchants, for the purpose of procuring their bounty. As I am inclined to think that they may have a large fee extorted from them, I would respectfully request, that the amounts due them, may be transmitted thro. me. I have made application for the Additional Bounty, for them, whenever I have had application

I am General
Very Respectfully, Yr Obdt. Servt.
