any more, I was standing in the big room in a corner talking to a lady, a few minutes after, when I heard a shot, do not know who fired the shot or who at, do not know any who had arms, had been in the big room about five minutes when the shot was fired, did not see the constable, the shot I heard fired killed a man, do not know his name, he did not come with us, do not know where he belonged, or what he was doing there, heard that a man was killed, by one of the women coming into the room screaming out Oh! my uncle's dead! did not attempt to leave, a few minutes afterward, I was called on to come out of the house, and found that the house was surrounded by guards I was placed under arrest by the guards and taken to Fort Whipple, and kept there until July 1st 1867. when I was brought to Alexandria County Jail
