my wife's uncle, we all started to go out of the house and were ordered back, we all went back in the house, and staid there ten minutes, when they cried all you males fall out here - and I was then arrested.

Had no idea who fired the shot, or of there being any guards at the place, or any coming, went there solely for pleasure. Jim Becket did not go with us, he was there when we got there - did not have any arms - did not see any used. 
   
After I was arrested, I was taken to Fort Whipple, and kept there until July 1. 1867. when I was transfered to Alexandria County Jail.
