114. Fort Whipple
Alexandria,Va



An inquisition taken at Fort Whipple in the county of Alexandria,Va. on the 30th of June 1867. before a Jury of the said county upon the view of the body of Griffin Burk (colored) lying dead at the house of Lizzie Campbell, the jurors sworn to inquire, when, how, and by what means the said Griffin Burk (colored) came to his death, upon their oaths do say that he came to his death from a Minnie ball, in a negro riot, fired by some unknown party, or parties in testimony where of the said Coroner and Juror hereto set their hands. 
30th day of June A.D. 1867.
