saw my securities I asked Mr. Murray if he would go my security to the bonds- He said yes but as he was getting old he would not go but a year at a time if that would suit Mr. Tracy. I then asked him to get on his horse and ride down to Mr. Tracy and see what he said about it and he (Murray) did so. We rode on to the mill in the first place we went into the mill We did not see anything of Mr. Tracy and then went up to the house. Mr. Tracy was absent. No one was there but Mrs. Tracy — we saw her — When Mr. Murray told her that he had come to see her about [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] renting the mill she said that she had nothing to do with it that she had given it all up to her son Philipp or words something like that (I dont know that I can repeat the exact words) that whatever he did would be satisfactory to her. When we went down to the mill we met Mr. Tracy [[strikethrough]] at [[/strikethrough]] in the door I suppose he had been in the basement when we were there before and Mr Murray asked him what he had stated to Mr Murray & he said it was all right. Then Mr Murray walked off a little distance on the dam (sort of skating around) and I then told Mr Tracy if that security [[strikethrough]]h[/strikethrough]] did not suit him I could get my aunt to go on the other two bonds. He did not say at that time that he required that. I then went on and got my uncle to sign the three bonds and then came back. The next day was Christmas Eve morning Mr Murray had signed the bond. I went down to the mill Mr Tracy was there and I handed him the bonds. My father and myself had signed them before my uncle. He took the bonds read them over and said I did not know your uncles name was A. B. I told him it was. He looked
