In reply to your letter of the 22d inst in relation to securing sutible buildings for the accomodation of the schools of the Ref. Pres. Church I would state that I recomended the retention by the bureau of six buildings at Sickles Barracks. Two of them for this school. I have consulted with Mr Scott, the teacher of said school also Mrs. Fisher Superintendent of the New York Schools and the understanding is that Mr Scott will continue his schools at the Barracks as heretofore, and the N.Y. Schools will have the two new School houses. This arrangement seems to be satisfactory to all parties and there will be enough schollars to fill all of the schools. 

As the Ref. Pres Church has or are about to transfer their funds to the American Missionary Society, I hoped that some other arrangement might be made, so that one society would take all of the schools in Alexandria, when we could have graded schools and a uniform
