General:

I have the honor to report that I have this day had arrested, by the civil authorities, a white man named John Saunders, a resident of Bedford Co., now on a visit here, on account of violent and disloyal language used by him towards the Flag of the Country, and had him bound over in the sum of $500.00 to appear at such place and time as the commanding General may direct, to answer the said charge.
