rushed in and jerked the club out of James E Rectors hands, but Wm. F Rector took it away from her and giving it to his Brother, told her that "her father should be beat" He was carried up stairs and medical aid procured, and lay in his bed two weeks. Maxwell sent to Capt Orr then Provost Marshall here, and the Capt sent a squad of troops up to arrest these parties, but they fled. Maxwell then came before the Grand jury and had them indicted, but the case when tried was given to him with (1) one cent damages - Maxwell is in very feeble health in consequence of the severe treatment he received from these Rectors.
