In Compliance with your request I give you what I know in regard to the dificulty between Thomas Maxwell and the Rectors
Which took place in Oct 65 during the Session of the first Magisterial Court held at this place. Maxwell at the time was post Master, and Strange to tell, the court was held in the post office room. A Short time after Court Commenced, Epaminondas Rector (commonly called Pam) came into the court room in a state of intoxication. So drunk that he staggered and fell; bringing his head in contact with the Stove, making a slight wound upon his face. He left the court room and went into an adjoining room; occupied by Miss Maxwell and Miss Pratt He remained but a short time before he again made his appearance in the court room his arm in a Sling and also three eggs in the Sling in which he carried his arm.
