Sir:
I have the honor to submit the following report of the case of John Moore, freedman, Vs Saml M. Page.

My information is entirely obtained from Mr. J.W. King a Lawyer who acted for John Moore, and his Father-in-law, Anthony Moore - both acknowledged to him that the property was rented to them jointly Anthony to pay rent to the amt. of $43 - and John to pay about $20. - Subsequently John went to Richmond and served Mr S.M. Page six months and upon leaving, Mr Page retained his wages, for the rent of the property, being, the Lawyer thinks, six months wages, at ten (10) dollars per month, a sum sufficient to cover the claim of Mr Page against both of the Freedmen within three (3) dollars
