that time before the Asst. Supt. at Richmond.

Since that time Mr. Page through his Agent at St. Tammany Va took out a warrant for the Amt. of rent payable by Anthony Moore, and obtaining a judgment, the Sherrif was on the point of selling the whole of Anthony s effects for the portion of rent payable by him when the lawyer (Mr King) interfered and required the release of all property not legally subject to distress levy, the balance was then sold for between 10 and 11 dollars - this sale took place early in February 1867.

It would seem that Mr Page not satisfied with obtaining full payment thro' John Moore, - through his Agent has attempted to force the payment by Anthony of his portion of the Contract

Mr Saml M. Page lives in Richmond to which city he moved about a year ago

This seems to be an attempt at fraud though the complete success of the scheme was prevented by the prompt action of the Lawyer

Very Respectfully Your Obt Servant
Geo. T. Cook.
1st Lieut V R C & Asst. Supt
