although I appeal to the officer in command in the name of the U.S. & by virtue of a written Millitary & cival protection from the hands of Col. Woolley U.S.A. then commanding in Balt Md, Genl Hancock, army take my store house & rob it of its contints  the officer then in command assurd me all should be paid for from my appeal &c

I have not receive any pay as yet. My friend the Honl Rev adg Johnson U.S.S from md has my claim to adjust with the government but I fear the claim is shut out by the act of July 64.  hard case for a lay man, I would be glad to see the stay law of Va wiped out as it appear to keep the small funds of the suffering lockd up, by same who are dayly ticsting & will not supply thir claimants a mouthfull to quesn hunger I have no home nor funds all caused from what is heretofore mentiond
