Maj. W.R. Morse
Sub Asst. Com'r &c
Gordonsville, Va.

Major: - Harriet Snyder, colored woman, has applied to me for transportation to Cave Spring, Roanoake County. That is her home. Her husband is dead. She is very poor, having been ill, and a doctor's bill to pay. Her mother-in-law lives at Cave Spring. Harriet has one child there, and two with her. All are very small.

I would respectfully recommend that transportation be supplied to her and her children, to get them home.

Respectfully,
Your obedient serv't.,
Wm Linn Tidball,
Capt. & A.S.A. Com. &c.
