by Parker, one of the Soldiers. - Saturday I was made Chief of the colored detachment of police, and was on duty according to my instructions. Keeping those of my own color quiet - In the afternoon I was at the show discharging my duty and ordering my colored friends to sit down according to my orders - Parker came up and asks me if I meant him - I replied no. I had only to do with the colored people - I thought that was satisfactory but on Saturday night in the show I met him again he says "God damn your soul. I haven't forgot that you ordered me to stand back to day" - Sir I says, I have nothing to do with you. I am to take care of the colored friends - Parker then replied God damn you. I am a better man than you, and intend to prove it. We separated then through the interference of the Show man  I went home and didnt see him again until the morning of the fight - I told Col Jordan Sunday morning that I was threatened by Parker. - I made complaint
