I re-inclose a communication received from thee, last Month and by direction of the Contee in Instruction respectfully submit the following statement in reply.

Of the five buildings at Yorktown, three have been and are, or are about to be, used as school houses - the average cost of these school houses with the two, or three acres of land immediately surrounding them being, as nearly as we can determine from a/c's. and estimates about $660 each.

If this Association had been paying instead of receiving rent for these, it would probably have been at the rate of $120 per annum for each of the two larger buildings and $75 for the smaller one which was occupied during 1866 at Acretown (these rates would correspond to those paid by us in similar localities) our application would therefore be as follows.
