Soon after the gun did go off another cap having been placed thereon - wether at Henry or not is not certain, for Henry by the time the gun was recapped had walked some distance away, and was near the tavern kitchen.  Henry went into the kitchen but seemingly to avoid meeting Thompson again soon left the kitchen and went & sat down upon the steps of Mr. C.H. Powells Store.  At this place Mr. Powell hearing conversation between them advised Thompson to go away and let Henry alone.  Mr Powells advice seemed at first to be taken and Henry started to go away when he was followed by Thompson and both stoped again, Henry telling Thompson that he was upon the public road, that he had always behaved himself to him and would ever do so.  Some further words from Thompson in rather a muttering tone and rather indistinct to those that had heard the most of the conversation were answered by Henry something like these words, "If you shoot again you must shoot to kill".
