By reference to a memorandum furnished me by you, you require the following proof in support of my application for restoration of the property rented of me by N. B. Strong on Newtons Wharf-

[[left margin]] This certificate is furnished to Capt. Austin [[/left margin]]

1st Proof of title. This I can support by reference to the Assessors Books of this city for the last 50 years & more, which show that this property has been listed to my ancestors, and by descent, to me, and the taxes regularly paid thereon, during the above time. I can also furnish a copy of the deed of Lease, made by me of this land to Geo. Cross in 1851 for a Ground Rent, from which Cross Caleb White formerly claimed as his assignee. So much for the land on which the house stands — And as to the said house

I can show that by the terms of the said deed of lease in 1851, a covenant in these words "And it is further declared and agreed on between the parties for themselves their heirs and assigns, respectively, that if the Rent or taxes aforesaid shall at any time be in arrear for the term of six months, extract about building left out as unnecessary, then it shall be lawful for the said lessors their heirs or assigns to enter on the said demised premises, or any part thereof in the name of the whole and to put an end to the said lease and repossess
