Sir, 
A tract of land, situated in the county of Accomack and State of Virginia, and Parish of Saint George, consisting of ninety-five (95) acres, located South 11 miles from the Court House of said county, valued at fifteen dollars per acre, making the aggregate valuation of said tract One thousand four hundred and twenty-five dollars ($1425.), of which I am the fee simple owner, and of which I was formerly in possession, is now held by you as the agent of the Freedmen’s Bureau. 

No reason existing why I should not be restored to the full possession of the same, I respectfully request that possession of the said tract of land, with the full rights of ownership, thereto appertaining, be delivered to me.

This day personally appeared before me, George W. Nock, a Justice of the Peace for the County aforesaid, George W. Nock, the above named applicant, who being duly sworn, says that he does not belong to any one of the classes of persons who are excepted from the benefits of of the Proclamation of the President of the United States, dated the 29th day of May, in the year 1865.
