To  my only Friend on Earth to which I feell that I am at liberty to ask to say that I Susan E. Nicholson has had Hotel Licens to make a support for myself and Fatherless child, which is the only way possible that I can get along in this miserable County, Hotel keeping has been my occupation ever since January 14th 1868 I married T.J. Nicholson one of the first men in County one who every body loved that nenw him in 18 at he was conscripted  sent into the Confederate Service where he contracted a disease that took him to his grave he was a prisoner at Point look out for some time your officer and men were all  good and kind to him for they new that he was a pure man as ever lived and Died and on  his return home the federal officers came to procure Board which I took Great pleasure in
