woman reported the matter and the woman was arrested by the police just as she was leaving on the train for North Carolina.  For the sake of her friends (as stated by papers) her name was with-held and no action taken more than to restore her the child and see her conducted by a policeman to N. Carolina.
   People strongly believe, and some claim to know, that the woman mentioned in said articule is no other than Mrs. Nicholson, the writer of the within letter.  Heretofore, Mrs Nicholson was keeper of a hotel and boarding house and appeared in comfortaable circumstances.  Since her return tot his place she has lived secluded, shunned by her former acquanitances and discarded by her friends and relative.  She has respectable connections in the county.
   At the June term of County Court (Brunswick) she applied for another hotel and liquor license which was refused her by the Court upon the ground of her supposed, of not her real, character, which action of the court appears to be the occasion
