I Thomas Tatem a Notary Public in the city aforesaid in the State of Virginia do hereby certify that Elizabeth Whitehead the wife of Nathan C. Whitehead, parties to a certain deed bearing date on the thirtieth day of January 1852 thereon to  annexed personally appeared before me in city aforesaid & being examined by me privately & apart from her husband and having the Deed aforesaid fully explained to her she the said Elizabeth Whitehead acknowledges the same to be her act and deed, and declares that she had willingly signed sealed & delivered the same and that she wishes not to retract it. Given under my hand this thirtieth day of January 1852.
