Poulson should continue to act as the owner of the negro, and should hire him out, Bull to receive the hire. That Bull received the sum of $50.00 for the hire of the negro for the year 1862, that sum being credited upon his bond to Poulson. That on the 5th day of January 1863, the negro was emancipated by Brg. Genl. Lockwood, because he had worked upon fortifications in the year 1861. A copy of Genl. Lockwoods order is here with enclosed. The jury, after the case was fully heard and argued, rendered a verdict in favor of Poulson and against Bull, for the balance due upon the bond, and the court upon the verdict, rendered its judgment in favor of Poulson for that amount.
The negro, Charles Poulson was not a party to that suit, and the jury and court ended in no way pass upon any claim of his. I cannot therefore conceive how he can be injured or
