Head Quarters, 
Drummondtown  Jany 5th 1863. 

The bearer Charles Poulson aged 50 years, dark complexion, wooly hair, black eyes, 5 ft 7 1/2 inches high, hitherto a slave of Edmond Poulson, having aided and abetted in the present rebellion, contrary to the provisions of the last section of the Act of Congress approved August 6th, 1861, entitled "An Act to confiscate property, used for insurrectionary purposes", is entitled to the provision of said Act. And all persons are hereby forewarned to respect the said Charles Poulson as a free man and not restrain, hinder or obstruct him in the possession or enjoyment of his liberty under the law.
