Agent Bureau R.F. and A.L. for Sub District of Nansemond and Isle of Wight Co. Va. Reports a case tried by the Superior Court at Suffolk Va. Circuit Court Judge Richd. H. Baker presiding, in which, in his opinion, injustice was done to three Freedmen who were the prisoners, and requests, that if consistent, the case be re-examined by the Military Authorities Recd. O.S. 1st Dist. April 24th 67 Bureau R.F. and A.L. H'd. Qrs. Sub Asst Comr. 1st Dist Norfolk April 24, 1867 Respectfully referred to Brvt Brig Genl Orlando Brown Asst Comr. State of Va, Approved, as the case evidently requires investigation by a more impartial tribunal than the Circuit Court seems to have been in this case, from the within report of Capt Jno W. Barnes.
