Office 1st Div., 1st Sub-District, Va.
Norfolk, Va. September 17th 1867.

"Brevet Major" J.H. Remington
Sub Asst Com

Major,
In compliance with your instructions to investigate the case of Mrs. Indiana Bolkin, I have the honor to inform you I visited her place yesterday.

She live on a Farm of 160 acres which belong to herself and children of her Husband deceased.

In my opinion she is neither in a starving or suffering condition and I think she can get along without assistance from the Bureau.

Very Respectfully
your Obdt servant
