There is a building built and ready for a school near Jerusalem but there has been a failure thus far to secure a teacher, A school is very much needed at Boykins Depot

The Freedpeople entitled to register, have so far as is known all availed themselves of the opportunity to do so, and have quite a large majority over the whites, no instances have been reported of molestation or intimidation upon the part of the whites to prevent the Freemen from registering. None have been dischard by their employers on that account. Lieut Deacon has, in addition to his Bureau duties performed the duty of President of the Board of Registration for this county.

A temperance organization is in process of formation, There is very little intemperance amongst the Freedmen and it is a very rare thing to see one of them intoxicated

Lieut. A.G. Deacon Asst Sub Asst Com, for this Division is a faithful officer but lacking in energy. The office records are very imperfect and not wekk kept. Lieut. Deacon having lost an arm in the Service and therefore finding it very difficult to keep the records properly without a clerk.
