States, that he is an old, blind man of seventy six years of age; that he was a faithful soldier of the War of 1812-14, but as he had the good fortune to escape the perils of War, unharmed, he has been unable to obtain a pension, which he much needs.

States, that his wife is Seventy five years old; he has, also, a little grandson, dependent on him.
