BUCKINGHAM, CUMBERLAND AND CHARLOTTE COUNTIES, VA.

FARMVILLE, VA., Feby 15th 1867.

Supt 2nd District,

Maj.

I have the honor to request to be furnished with Transportation, for Susan Hudson Freedwoman and five children, from Farmville Va. to Hopkinsville Ky. for the following named reasons, which in my judgment brings these cases within the province of Circular No 3, from War Dept. B.R.F. & A.L. dated Washington D.C. Feby 3, 1867.

1st They have been for the last eight mos. living in the Hospital at this Post and thereby, a charge upon the Government.

2nd They are in destitute circumstances, and can be provided for, and the Government relieved of their support, by being transported as requested.

3rd The husband of this woman, Albert Hudson, is in the employ of G.H. Merritt. Esq. who resides near Hopkinsville, Ky. and can make all necessary provision for the support of his family there.

I earnestly urge that this application be granted as the cases are truly worthy of the favorable consideration of the proper authorities
                                              over.
