Prince George Co July 12/1867

I have learned that my land in Prince George County was returned in 1865 as abandoned by Maj Holman, when the fact is beyond doubt that at the time of such return, I had harvested a crop of oats and had two white men occupying the farm and continued so to do, and said farm has been regularly in my possession since, I have had absolute control of the same. I am prepared to prove by my neighbors that said farm is and was in my possession, and I related the facts to Capt Stuart Burns and he assured me that it was all right, & need give myself any uneasiness about it as it was reported through mistake.
