General 
I had the honor some time since to make application for aid in building a school-house, with a view of keeping the teachers engaged who had been deprived of a building by fire 
There are thousands of children in my District deprived of the advantages of schools for want of teachers, and I am opposed to allowing teachers to go home for want of buildings
Here are five (5) superior teachers waiting for a building, and children actually following them in the streets enquiring "when will we again have a school" As you disapproved of the above application I urged one of the teachers to go to City Point, and I think she will go I immediately applied to you for funds to
