is yet unsold. Cannot the military authorities take sufficient of this cotton & dispose of the same to settle this debt due the above named Freedmen for his work. I know of no other means whereby he can ever receive his hard earned wages. Dr Ghelson acknowledges the debt. The entire amt (being for the freedmen & his family) is two hundred dollars & more, but Dr G. says it is subject to a credit which will reduce the amount to seventy-five or one hundred dollars.
