States in the month of Feby 1866 a colored man named Stephen Lucas was murdered in Suxxex County Va a negro name Abram Wicks, who went to the house of Lucas and induced him to go in the neighborhood where the murder was committed is believed to know something about it. Lucas wife Jane wishes to go to Waverly Station (where Wicks now is,) to prosecute him but is to poor too ride & too old to walk Maj: Stone now requests transportation for her from Petersburg & return.
