4th. The County authorities have heretofore taken care of their poor; the authorities of Brunswick now declare their inability to do so.

5th. The supply of labor is about equal to the demand.

6th. One school has been opened at Lawrenceville, and will soon number about one hundred pupils. There are no schools in Greenville County. There should be six or eight in each County.

Lt. Kimball, A.S.A.C. seems in reference to the freedmen to be discharging his duties zealously. He possesses no executive or clerical ability, and has no records of any value.
