Major :-

I have the honor to inform you that in compliance with instructions contained in Circular No. 5. C.S. from the Office of the Asst Commissioner. State of Virginia, I have completed the inspection of this Sub District. and report as follows :-

1st Division, Dinwiddie and Prince George Counties.

This is a zealous and intelligent ex-officer of the U.S. Army. and I believe is discharging his duties conscientiously in looking to the interests of the freedmen.

As the information called for in Letter of Instructions from the Asst Comm'r dated June 1st 1866. which Circular No 5. above referred to directs my report to have reference to. is of a uniform and general character. the substances of this report will be embodied in general remarks.

2nd Division. Sussex and Surry Counties
Capt. J.F. Wilcox, A.S.A. Comm'r
This Officer seems to have the interests of the freedmen in view.
