This deed made the 7th day of December eighteen hundred and sixty one between William P. Taylor and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Caroline, State of Virginia of the one part, and James W. Shackelford of King William County and said State of the other, Witnepeth, that the said William P. Taylor and Elizabeth his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars in hand paid to the said William P. Taylor by the said Shackelford, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained sold and conveyed, and do by these presents grant bargain, sell and convey to him the said James W. Shackelford, two certain parcels or lots of land lying in the town of West Point King William County, numbered in the plan or plat of said town, ninety and ninety one, and marked in the land book of the West Point Sand Company is the property of the said Taylor, the said parcels or lots having with others been reserved at the time of the sale to the said Company, together with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging, to have and to hold the said parcels or lots of land with the privileges and appurtenances aforesaid, to him the said Shackelford his heirs and afsigns in fee simple and forever. And the said William P. Taylor and Elizabeth his wife, do further covenant and agree for themselves and their heirs, the parcels and lots of land hereby sold and conveyed, forever to warrant and defend to the said Shackelford and his heirs against the right Tille claims and demands of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said William P. Taylor and Elizabeth his wife have here unto set their hands and seals the day and year above written.
