You will please appear as guardian for the Bearer J. H. Roan in the Court of Concilliation tomorrow morning at 10 oClock. If he cannot receive Justice, on account of his color in that tribunal, you will remove the case from its Jurisdiction to that of the Provost Court.

Since writing you this morning I learn that More Troops are to be mustered out.  The uncertainty of retaining detailed officers and Men is So great, I would Suggest that Messrs Churchill and Bartlett be appointed and borne. . . on your Q.M. Rolls provided they are Such men as you wish to obtain.

Inquiry has been made from Maj Genl Howards Head Quarters concerning the whereabouts of Jas & Rebecca Woods (Husband and wife) Penny, Clarissa, Thomas and Manuel Wood, (their children) They were formerly owened by Wm. Wood of Edenton N.C. and are Supposed to be in Some of the villages established by Gov't for benefit of Freedmen possibly in Petersburg - You will please cause proper inquiries to be made within - Your District and report the Same to this office,
