Henry Carr came to this office and Stated that he knows nothing of Rachel Berkely and her grandchild - you will please Satisfy yourself as to the truth of falsity of his Statements and return the paper to Capt Flagg, with your endorsement,  Mr Carr further States that he chastised the boy but not inhumanly as we have no testimony at this office, his Statements cannot be denied - at your earliest convenience please visit Mr Carr at his place and take such further action as you may deem necessary -
