I have the honor to request that transportation may be furnished for Mary Jones and Four Children (destitute white refugees) from this City to Culpeper C.H. ~ They are at present subsisted by the U.S. Government ~ and desire to return to their home in Culpeper, where such aid will not be required. -

The following case is referred to you for investigation and report. ~
Frank Martin, colored, claims that his Father, James Martin, who was a freed man, bought a piece of land in Bowling Green, Caroline County, Cornelius Campbell of Bowling Green, being his representative in the transaction and keeping the Deed. James Martin having died, Mr Campbell refuses to give up the land to his son Frank, his lawful heir or to allow his wife to occupy the house on the land. Mr Robert Hodgkins, Bowling, Green is reported to be cognizant of the facts. ~

There lands have mostly been reported by Captain Flagg ~
I shall not make any use of the enclosed transfer list, as it does not cover the report called for in Circular No 10. Bureau R.F. and A.L. in some particulars, and is not made out on forms furnished ~ 
I desire that the report for September will be made as complete as possible, and show all Lands and houses in Your District in possession of the Bureau and be made out on forms furnished ~ of which I send a fresh supply to day. ~

In pursuance of instructions receiv- from Washington all control of the Bureau over the property situated opposite the Gosport Navy Yard, of which Messrs Reed, Peters, Reynolds, Wilson and Sullivan are joint owners will be released. They having received a special pardon from the President. ~
