I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 24th Ult. A similar paper had previously been received from Maj: Gen'l. Howard and on that action had already been taken. The Supt. of the Freedmens Bureau for the District in which your property is situated was directed to prevent any further depredations and report the general condition of it. - That report has not yet been received. -

You will please forward me a list of such property as is on your Quartmasters papers, that belong to him.
