Districts No 1. 2. 5. 6. 7. 8. to Freedmen and District No. 5. to Refugees. Oct 12th 1865 Jackson T.P. Esq. Asst Supt &c. Sir I understand that the claim agent placed in your hand certain claims of colored persons for their bounty reserved under Genl. Order No. 90. Dept Va. & N.C. Series 1864 I further learn that the papers connected with these claims were forwarded to the claim agent of said commission in Washington. If this is the case you will please get possession of their papers and forward them to me: as arrangements are now made to secure their prompt payment without the intervention of claim agents. Supt. &c 8th Dist Wytheville Va Captain I have the honor to enclose transportation order No 24 for James Green (Colored Boy) from Wytheville Va to this city on the way to give his Mother in Washington D.C.
