Captain
Your communication of 10th inst with enclosed report was received yesterday.
I beg to refer you to my telegram dated Sept 30th calling for reports for August your reply was of same date as follows "Do you require me to make reports and returns for property not in my hands nor under my control, and of which I have no data. Captain Flagg turned over to me the property and papers on the 13th Sept and all papers were dated Sept 1st consequently I am unable to go back of that date"
From your telegram I supposed that you had no returns to make for August. Yet on looking over your September returns of clothing and property, I find articles on hand per last return. If you had any Returns for August you will please send a copy of each with copies of abstracts and vouchers, as soon as possible - If you had no property on hand in August. [[strikethrough]]If you had no property on hand in Aug[[/strikethrough]] your Returns for Sept are necessarily incorrect.
I enclose all papers forwarded in yours of 10th inst and respectfully refer you to my letter in regard to making out reports &c dated 9th September.
I require one copy of each return with copies of abstracts and vouchers.
You will please state in your cash account of Bureau Funds the amount of rent received from the rent of Land and the amount from rent of Building.
I shall be at a "stand still" on my consolidated August Returns of Q.M. Property C.C. and G.E. Bureau property and C.C. & G.E. until I hear from you.
Please answer immediately
Respectfully yours
