I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communications dated March 15th enclosing the discharge papers of John H. Quarles 1st Sergeant Co. "L", 1st Regiment U.S.C.C. with two powers of Attorney, Certificate of mixed blood, Check Book No. 718 for $500. due Francis Manning bought by Quarles, and certificate of Gilman Page Jr. Lieut. Commanding Co. of the purchase of the Book.
