Captain, I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication dated March 21st 1866, enclosing applications for bounty &c, and three certificates. I enclose vouchers for the signatures of John Sayles and Nicholas Henderson. Henderson claims $200 bounty, his certificate calls for one hundred dollars, but I find he has only $66.66/100 due, for which amount the vouchers are made out. The applications for the bounty of Richard Johns will be attended to in a few days. I find that John Barrister has no bounty due him - but that John Bannister has $100 due - there may be a mistake in the name, please send date of Barristers enlistment. In regard to the claims of Anthony Higgins and Anthony Williams for money deposited with Paymaster J.H. Hubbard, whose receipts they have lost, - inquiries are being made as to the manner of collecting the amounts, information will be forwarded when obtained - Instructions are daily expected from Washington, in regard to the claims of colored soldiers and the mode of collecting them.
